Seedling to mature plants
Seed to seedlings to mature plants
Artichokes can be produced from seeds or by vegetative means such as root cuttings.
In 2020 I purchased 'Green Globe' cultivar seedlings from a local nursery, and starting in spring; I grew them in concrete containers using my container soil as a medium.
I supplied them with regular water from my irrigation system for five minutes three times a day.
I fed them with compost every seven to ten days during the flowering period, and the plants increased rapidly in size.

Pruning
The growth of the plants became unmanageable, and I decided to prune them back.
After the pruning the plants grew well and soon their was an abundance of artichokes.
